It still perplexes me. How is it? Why is it that nature produces these patterns? Is it just something to do with left brain and right brain telling me this is what I'm seeing? Or is nature more alive and interinked than I had previously thought? Maybe it is part of our make up from way back that for survival we are programed to look for patterns/faces etc to spot potential danger?
I think it is a mixture of the above blended with an oriental concept called " Li " . There are many translations for Li, it encompasses the whole gamut of patterns in nature from spots on a leopard to cracks in dried mud to the bark of a tree to galaxies. But it is more too. Li is the interaction of hidden dynamic growth power expressing itself through the fexible laws of form. Put another way Li is the Chi driving through the DNA of life to create interactive patterning.
So Rocks are made by a goblin/troll like hidden power pushing through the psysics of plate techtonics and lave etc. Trees have a hidden green man/green woman/elfin energy gowing through the structural DNA . In the case of grasses and flowers the hidden energy is more fairy like.
The patterns, I have noticed, do have a yin yang coiling to them.
The patterns produce more totemic and clear "nature people " away from the cities.
The more sacred the spot the more inherant symmetry there is.
The more I approach the art of photography with reverance the more the nature people reveal themselves to me. This includes singing a hello to place I am in.
Everything has consciousness and responds to a loving hello, this is the basic way to approach discovering the magic all around.
Try it with clouds. They are made of water and your brain is made of 90% water so they will resonate tgether when you open communication with them. Your visualisation and belief are the keys to the door of this way of communicating. Say hello and play with the shapeshifting nature of the cloud, see how the dance goes, see if the cloud will mimic you.. a narural thing to do..you maybe surprised to see your own face staring down at you, or half a face and a mixture of other aspect of yourself like your totem animals. Have fun. Immitation is the highest form of flattery
All the best
